Back to School

B and I volunteered last weekend to help unprivileged kids get back to school clothes at Mervyn's. It was really fun helping them shop for clothes and then figure out if they could afford everything on their $100 gift cards. So in honor of back to school this month I thought I would share a few flashbacks.......

Fine dining feast

What fun we have hosting an Easter party for our friends on the Saturday before Easter. We ate lots of good food and drank wine and champagne. Best of all we discovered that we can seat 9 people in our kitchen dining area without any complaining (I think the food helped with the complaints). Even Josie had a great time!

I scream you scream we all scream for baseball, no ice cream

Some time ago we went to the Giants vs. A's game with a group of friends. We enjoyed a fun baseball game, but unfortunately the Giant's lost. Luckily we were able to drown our sorrows in lots and I mean lots of ice cream at Fenton's in Piedmont. (Alex got the belly buster of ice creams- it had 3 lbs of the good stuff!!!!)

Dirt, dust everywhere

Since the day we moved into our house I have wanted to change the landscaping in the front yard and Cyrus has wanted to build his dream workbench. Well this is the summer. We broke ground on the workbench a few weeks ago; while it has been a slow process because Cyrus is meticulous and this workbench has every bell and whistle, I know it will be well worth it (even if there are times when I complain about the dust).

The front yard project started this week……practically everything went. It was a shock to come home the first night to a pile of dirt for a front yard and a broken water line. Both have since been fixed and visible progress is being made everyday. I am longing for the day when I have a driveway back, but I also love to come home each day and see the progress. I have posted a few pictures of the before complete with the dead lawn, our own efforts to move the pomegranate tree to the back yard, and the landscaping progress. I will continue posting pictures as more gets done. I can’t believe that soon I will have my dream front yard!

Other than that we are continuing to work too hard and attempt to have a life too. Cyrus has spent the last week and a half back east, mostly working but also attending a family reunion in New Hampshire. I am overseeing the progress on the yard and working too many hours supporting operations in Europe, Asia, and North America.
