Jackson Hole, Wyoming: Vacation #1

It has been quite a July in our household. We went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Saskatchewan, Canada and Sophia turned 2. What a month. We started in Jackson Hole on July 3rd. The 4th of July in Jackson was extremely patriotic-everyone was dressed in red, white and blue and the local town parade had many energetic, unique offerings. The fireworks that evening were the most intense I have ever seen.

In addition to the festivities in the 4th, we saw tons of wildlife- fox, osprey, bald eagle, moose, bear, deer, elk, fish, and probably others I am forgetting right now. Many of them appeared at the pond in the back of the house, drinking water and enjoying the salt lick allowing us to get close enough to capture some great photos.

Cyrus caught “the fish of his lifetime”, a 20 inch cutthroat trout, plus a 20 inch brown trout. Unfortunately they did not capture a picture of the cutthroat, but they did capture his brown trout- he looks pretty happy doesn't he?

The other excitement of the trip is that my brother proposed to his girlfriend! They went canoeing for the day, stopping off for a small picnic where he asked her. We are all excited as Lauren will be a great addition to our family!
