One happy toddler

Isabella was the easiest baby- never cried, slept well and now she is a great toddler. She is happy all the time, greets everyone and is generally a loving, cuddly little girl.

Isabella turns 1! (a few months ago)

Isabella is growing up too fast! Everyone warned us that the second one grows up fast, but wow I already feel like it is too quick. She is 1!

We had a Pink Bunny Party to celebrate!  The invitation, decorations and food were all perfect and Isabella was perfectly overwhelmed.

We had a brunch, as many of our friends have kids with afternoon naps.  Though this required a very late night prior, we were lucky enough to have the help of Allison and Bianca, two of my very best friends, to put up decorations and make cakes and quiches with us.

As for the birthday girl, she started out as a perfect lady with her cake, but ended up digging in just as expected.

Christmas 2011

I was so excited about Christmas this year. Sophia is at the age to really enjoy it and Isabella was starting to enter the human phase of reacting to the twinkle lights, eating wrapping paper and the like.  Then the flu hit- I got it the week before Christmas and Sophia got it on Christmas Eve dinner.  She turned white & asked to go home.  On Christmas morning, after opening some presents and talking to the on-call doctor, we took her to urgent care near my parent’s house.  Luckily they were fast and efficient; she was diagnosed with bronchitis.  Not how we had planned Christmas, but fun still.  Sophia was a trooper and my parents got to spend more quality time with Isabella while we were at urgent care.

Sophia was thrilled with her new princesses and computer (Leap Pad), which came in quite handy in urgent care.

Neglected.....

This blog has been neglected, as you can see.  Before updating it thought, “Should I keep writing it?”.  The answer is yes. I write this blog for our out of town family and friends and also for our own memories.  It is just another way for us to track what we are up to in our lives and it is important to us.  In the digital age we take tons of photos and write short updates on websites, but I want a way to capture the stories too.  So, with that I give you a slew of updates from Thanksgiving starting first with we have all been sick A LOT.  We have had everything and visited too many doctors, labs and pharmacies.  We have not had a week in December or January where we have all been well.  It is absurd, but then again it is life.  The positive out of this is that we have been forced to slow down, have more pajama and movie days, and drink tea.  That has been enjoyable.

Isabella turns 7 months old!

Isabella is sitting, rolling and considering crawling any day now.  She is still happy, easy going and very accepting of new things.  She is a champion eater, gobbling down any new culinary treats we send her way, and loves her big sister.  Just this weekend the two of them played together for almost an house in a room away from both of us- it was amazing to peek in and see.

Halloween 2011

It was a great Halloween.  On Friday we attempted our annual birth group picture, but after Sophia adamantly put her foot down over and over we gave up.  It seems it was the year where many of the kids decided not to cooperate.
After that fiasco I was openly worried that the remainder of the weekend’s activities would be difficult.  Of course I was pleasantly surprised when they went off without an issue.
On Saturday night we all dressed up and went over to Jeff and Nancy’s costume party.  We dressed as a witch family with our little chicken in our cauldron.  It turned out quite cute.

We all enjoyed the food, friends and games of musical chairs before happily returning home to sleep.  We all slept in on Sunday morning (a first in a long time) and awoke at 9 am!  It was pure bliss after a few restless nights last week due to colds, travel, etc.
The remainder of the weekend we did our usual things and added in making pumpkin bread, roasting pumpkin seeds and carving our pumpkins-this was the 1st year we did this with Sophia.  She had a great time.

On Halloween evening we went trick or treating & managed to walk about a mile before Sophia said her bag was full enough and she was tired.  She came home, ate a candy, brushed her teeth and fell right asleep.  It really was the perfect end to a great holiday.

Onward we head into the holiday season.
