Cardboard House

I have a very distinct memory of being a kid and playing in a cardboard box with my brother.  It formerly housed a refrigerator, but when we inhabited it we designated it a space ship.  We played in it for days.  So, when a large box arrived at our doorstep I knew exactly what to do & it turns out that the girls did too.  What a house it is, especially after the decoration party we had!

One happy toddler

Isabella was the easiest baby- never cried, slept well and now she is a great toddler. She is happy all the time, greets everyone and is generally a loving, cuddly little girl.

Filoli 2012 Holiday Traditions

It is an annual tradition to attend Filoli's Holiday Traditions and this year was no exception. While this event is a shopping extravaganza, taking photographs provides me inspiration for years to come.  Hopefully sharing them with you will provide you some inspiration (even if the holiday are quite a distance from now).

Cutting down our Christmas Tress

Cutting down the Christmas tree is a BIG deal in our house. The day we went to cut the tree down it was a super foggy, dreary day until we drove up into the Los Gatos Mountains above the clouds.  It was a magnificent day!  We walked around and found the perfect tree, which we cut down.  Cyrus and I each picked up an end and a kid and carried it out of the forest.  People were practically cheering when we got to the parking lot and plopped it onto the table for them to net it.  That is when we saw it- a giant lizard.  I screamed and the coolness factor of carrying the tree and the kids disappeared.

IMG_3732
We got home and started to prepare the tree stand.  The girls were bursting with excitement, so we pulled out their trees.  They each decorated their trees and we put them in their rooms. Daily they redecorate them and frankly I am wondering if they will be year round fixtures in their rooms.
